Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mental Health at 100% against Be Safe's 50%. Mental Health also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Be Safe's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.9) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Mental Health sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Be Safe asks for nothing beyond the download.
Be Safe holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Be Safe's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mental Health's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Be Safe ships an update every 3 months, Mental Health every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
