# InText vs Text App

The clearest difference is rating: Text App at 4.6 against InText's 4.0. Text App also leads on ratings volume (3.5K vs 4) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.2). InText's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text App sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. InText asks for nothing beyond the download.

Text App holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text App has 3.5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

InText ships an update every 3 weeks, Text App every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
