# Digital Mala vs Transcend

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Transcend at none against Digital Mala's 1. Transcend also leads on review sentiment (68% vs 50%). Digital Mala's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Mala sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Transcend asks for nothing beyond the download.

Digital Mala holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 36 and 63 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Digital Mala's written reviews are positive against 68% of Transcend's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Digital Mala ships an update fortnightly, Transcend monthly. Both last shipped on September 29, 2026.
