# Digital Mala vs iMala

Digital Mala and iMala both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of iMala's written reviews are positive against 50% of Digital Mala's. iMala also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Digital Mala's advantage is ratings volume (40 vs 6) and iOS requirement (11.2 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Digital Mala sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and iMala sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Digital Mala against 5.0 for iMala. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digital Mala has 40 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of Digital Mala's written reviews are positive against 100% of iMala's.

Digital Mala ships an update fortnightly, iMala weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
