# SmartCocoon vs Artika

The clearest difference is rating: Artika at 4.4 against SmartCocoon's 2.0. Artika also leads on review sentiment (45% vs 20%) and ratings volume (45 vs 6). SmartCocoon's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 15 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Artika holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Artika has 45 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of SmartCocoon's written reviews are positive against 45% of Artika's.

SmartCocoon ships an update fortnightly, Artika every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
