# SmartCocoon vs DSC Connect

The clearest difference is rating: DSC Connect at 4.7 against SmartCocoon's 2.0. DSC Connect also leads on ratings volume (272 vs 6). SmartCocoon's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DSC Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DSC Connect has 272 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of SmartCocoon's written reviews are positive against 17% of DSC Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SmartCocoon ships an update fortnightly, DSC Connect monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
