# LED Hue vs Magic CarLight

The clearest difference is update cadence: Magic CarLight at every 6 weeks against LED Hue's every 5 months. LED Hue's advantage is ratings volume (479 vs 21) and rating (2.7 vs 2.5). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LED Hue holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LED Hue has 479 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of LED Hue's written reviews are positive against 37% of Magic CarLight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LED Hue ships an update every 5 months, Magic CarLight every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
