# Netcraft vs The Sentry

The clearest difference is monetization model: Netcraft at free against The Sentry's free with in-app purchases. Netcraft also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Netcraft sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and The Sentry sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Netcraft ships an update every 6 weeks, The Sentry every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
