# Radical vs Guidebook

The clearest difference is rating: Guidebook at 5.0 against Radical's 4.5. Guidebook also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Radical's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Guidebook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Radical has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Radical ships an update fortnightly, Guidebook every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
