# Xiaoxiang BMS vs Grand Design Compass Connect

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Xiaoxiang BMS at 55% against Grand Design Compass Connect's 8%. Grand Design Compass Connect's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Xiaoxiang BMS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Grand Design Compass Connect asks for nothing beyond the download.

Grand Design Compass Connect holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grand Design Compass Connect has 497 ratings behind it against 67, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Xiaoxiang BMS's written reviews are positive against 8% of Grand Design Compass Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Xiaoxiang BMS ships an update every 4 weeks, Grand Design Compass Connect every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
