# SOMweb vs Crestron Home

The clearest difference is rating: Crestron Home at 3.7 against SOMweb's 3.0. Crestron Home also leads on ratings volume (108 vs 4) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). SOMweb's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Crestron Home holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crestron Home has 108 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of SOMweb's written reviews are positive against 43% of Crestron Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SOMweb ships an update every 6 months, Crestron Home every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
