# XVRView vs TontonCam

The clearest difference is rating: TontonCam at 3.6 against XVRView's 2.7. TontonCam also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). XVRView's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (11% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TontonCam holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: XVRView has 249 ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of XVRView's written reviews are positive against 0% of TontonCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

XVRView ships an update every 2 months, TontonCam every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
