# Nextlingua vs HelloWords

The clearest difference is rating: Nextlingua at 4.9 against HelloWords's 4.4. Nextlingua also leads on review sentiment (93% vs 77%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). HelloWords's advantage is ratings volume (104 vs 19). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nextlingua sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and HelloWords sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Nextlingua holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HelloWords has 104 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 93% of Nextlingua's written reviews are positive against 77% of HelloWords's.

Nextlingua ships an update fortnightly, HelloWords every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
