# MetaX vs Ephemeral Trace

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ephemeral Trace at every 2 weeks against MetaX's monthly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MetaX sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Ephemeral Trace sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MetaX ships an update monthly, Ephemeral Trace every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on June 1, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
