# Next Up vs TimerNinja

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Next Up at 2.8K against TimerNinja's 8. Next Up also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). TimerNinja's advantage is device support (6 vs 3). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Next Up sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and TimerNinja sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Next Up holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Next Up has 2.8K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Next Up's written reviews are positive against 83% of TimerNinja's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Next Up ships an update every 5 weeks, TimerNinja every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
