# EMOJI Face Recorder vs Font Maker

EMOJI Face Recorder and Font Maker both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 54% of EMOJI Face Recorder's written reviews are positive against 20% of Font Maker's. EMOJI Face Recorder also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Font Maker's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EMOJI Face Recorder sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Font Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Font Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9K and 8.2K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of EMOJI Face Recorder's written reviews are positive against 20% of Font Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EMOJI Face Recorder ships an update every 2 months, Font Maker every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
