# whynote vs PPNote

The clearest difference is rating: PPNote at 3.5 against whynote's 2.0. whynote's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 7 months) and review sentiment (68% vs 40%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. whynote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PPNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PPNote holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of whynote's written reviews are positive against 40% of PPNote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

whynote ships an update every 3 days, PPNote every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
