# ACERTEC vs RC5

The clearest difference is update cadence: RC5 at every 2 weeks against ACERTEC's every 6 weeks. ACERTEC's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ACERTEC ships an update every 6 weeks, RC5 every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
