# TEMPO vs Kontan

The clearest difference is rating: Kontan at 4.3 against TEMPO's 1.6. Kontan also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (65% vs 39%). TEMPO's advantage is ratings volume (80 vs 6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TEMPO sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Kontan sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kontan holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 1.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TEMPO has 80 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 39% of TEMPO's written reviews are positive against 65% of Kontan's.

TEMPO ships an update every 2 months, Kontan every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
