# STEM Buddies vs Snap Science

The clearest difference is rating: Snap Science at 5.0 against STEM Buddies's 4.4. Snap Science also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 months). STEM Buddies's advantage is ratings volume (54 vs 3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. STEM Buddies sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 6 months and Snap Science sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Snap Science holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: STEM Buddies has 54 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

STEM Buddies ships an update every 5 months, Snap Science every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
