# Dropout vs Windrider Studios

The clearest difference is monetization model: Windrider Studios at free with in-app purchases against Dropout's subscription. Dropout's advantage is ratings volume (80K vs 5) and chart position (#55 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dropout sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Windrider Studios sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dropout holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dropout has 80K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Dropout ships an update every 2 months, Windrider Studios every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
