# ReadyMDC vs Tropical Hurricane Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: Tropical Hurricane Tracker at 4.9 against ReadyMDC's 4.3. Tropical Hurricane Tracker also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 12). ReadyMDC's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tropical Hurricane Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per year. ReadyMDC asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tropical Hurricane Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tropical Hurricane Tracker has 2.4K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of ReadyMDC's written reviews are positive against 96% of Tropical Hurricane Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ReadyMDC ships an update every 6 months, Tropical Hurricane Tracker weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
