# Retrowave vs Synthwave Escape

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Synthwave Escape at 83% against Retrowave's 25%. Synthwave Escape also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (219 vs 11). Retrowave's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Retrowave sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Synthwave Escape sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Synthwave Escape holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Synthwave Escape has 219 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 25% of Retrowave's written reviews are positive against 83% of Synthwave Escape's.
