# Satori Reader vs Hivemind

Satori Reader and Hivemind both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of Satori Reader's written reviews are positive against 30% of Hivemind's. Satori Reader also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). Hivemind's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months). On price, rating and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Satori Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Hivemind sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Satori Reader against 4.7 for Hivemind. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Satori Reader has 215 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of Satori Reader's written reviews are positive against 30% of Hivemind's.

Satori Reader ships an update every 3 months, Hivemind weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
