# Ctfile vs Splintir

The clearest difference is rating: Splintir at 5.0 against Ctfile's 1.2. Splintir also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11). Ctfile's advantage is ratings volume (52 vs 3) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ctfile sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Splintir asks for nothing beyond the download.

Splintir holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ctfile has 52 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ctfile ships an update weekly, Splintir fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
