# Guitar Tab Maker vs NoteBeat

The clearest difference is update cadence: NoteBeat at every 3 days against Guitar Tab Maker's monthly. NoteBeat also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs freemium). Guitar Tab Maker's advantage is ratings volume (510 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guitar Tab Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and NoteBeat sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NoteBeat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Guitar Tab Maker has 510 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Guitar Tab Maker's written reviews are positive against 100% of NoteBeat's.

Guitar Tab Maker ships an update monthly, NoteBeat every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
