# English 101 vs Wonderleaf

The clearest difference is rating: Wonderleaf at 5.0 against English 101's 4.3. Wonderleaf also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 11 months). English 101's advantage is ratings volume (217 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. English 101 sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Wonderleaf sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wonderleaf holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: English 101 has 217 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

English 101 ships an update every 11 months, Wonderleaf every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
