# Engine Sounds vs Skate Art 3D

The clearest difference is rating: Skate Art 3D at 4.7 against Engine Sounds's 2.8. Skate Art 3D also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (16K vs 4). Engine Sounds's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 58%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Skate Art 3D holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Skate Art 3D has 16K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Engine Sounds's written reviews are positive against 58% of Skate Art 3D's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Engine Sounds ships an update every 12 months, Skate Art 3D every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
