# Bartender School vs BarGenius

Bartender School and BarGenius both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 82% of BarGenius's written reviews are positive against 43% of Bartender School's. BarGenius also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly). Bartender School's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 84). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bartender School sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and BarGenius sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Bartender School against 4.8 for BarGenius. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bartender School has 1.3K ratings behind it against 84, so its average is the more settled of the two.
