# UM Touch vs CapWords

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CapWords at 72% against UM Touch's 9%. CapWords also leads on ratings volume (614 vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). UM Touch's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CapWords sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. UM Touch asks for nothing beyond the download.

UM Touch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CapWords has 614 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of UM Touch's written reviews are positive against 72% of CapWords's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UM Touch ships an update every 3 weeks, CapWords every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
