# LA Wallet vs Compass Time

The clearest difference is rating: Compass Time at 4.2 against LA Wallet's 3.4. Compass Time also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). LA Wallet's advantage is review sentiment (31% vs 9%) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Compass Time holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.2K and 839 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of LA Wallet's written reviews are positive against 9% of Compass Time's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
