# Night Light vs Hotmoon

The clearest difference is rating: Night Light at 4.5 against Hotmoon's 3.2. Night Light also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 42) and review sentiment (39% vs 23%). Hotmoon's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Night Light sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Hotmoon sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Night Light holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Night Light has 1.5K ratings behind it against 42, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 39% of Night Light's written reviews are positive against 23% of Hotmoon's.

Night Light ships an update every 6 weeks, Hotmoon fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
