# Max vs NugSmasher®

The clearest difference is rating: NugSmasher® at 3.4 against Max's 2.5. NugSmasher® also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). Max's advantage is ratings volume (302 vs 24) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NugSmasher® holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Max has 302 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Max's written reviews are positive against 20% of NugSmasher®'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Max ships an update every 5 weeks, NugSmasher® fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
