# Profoto Control vs Hypno Pro

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Profoto Control at none against Hypno Pro's 10. Profoto Control also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (896 vs 17). Hypno Pro's advantage is review sentiment (70% vs 38%). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hypno Pro sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Profoto Control asks for nothing beyond the download.

Profoto Control holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Profoto Control has 896 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Profoto Control's written reviews are positive against 70% of Hypno Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
