# Name Picker vs Raffle Name

The clearest difference is monetization model: Name Picker at free with in-app purchases against Raffle Name's subscription. Name Picker also leads on review sentiment (78% vs 57%). Raffle Name's advantage is ratings volume (5.6K vs 120) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.4). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Name Picker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Raffle Name sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Name Picker against 4.7 for Raffle Name. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Raffle Name has 5.6K ratings behind it against 120, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Name Picker's written reviews are positive against 57% of Raffle Name's.

Name Picker ships an update every 6 weeks, Raffle Name every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
