# Kangaroo vs Arlo Secure

The clearest difference is ads: Kangaroo at none against Arlo Secure's shown. Kangaroo also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Arlo Secure's advantage is ratings volume (429K vs 7.4K) and review sentiment (56% vs 35%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kangaroo sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Arlo Secure sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kangaroo holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Arlo Secure has 429K ratings behind it against 7.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of Kangaroo's written reviews are positive against 56% of Arlo Secure's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
