# KrimeWatch vs NECX

The clearest difference is rating: KrimeWatch at 5.0 against NECX's 4.2. NECX's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KrimeWatch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. NECX asks for nothing beyond the download.

KrimeWatch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NECX has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

KrimeWatch ships an update every 4 months, NECX fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
