# UpNote vs JotNotes

The clearest difference is ratings volume: UpNote at 1.1K against JotNotes's 3. UpNote also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.2). JotNotes's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UpNote sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and JotNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for UpNote against 4.7 for JotNotes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UpNote has 1.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of UpNote's written reviews are positive against 67% of JotNotes's.

UpNote ships an update weekly, JotNotes every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
