# UpNote vs Journalli

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Journalli at none against UpNote's 8. Journalli also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). UpNote's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UpNote sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Journalli asks for nothing beyond the download.

Journalli holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UpNote has 1.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UpNote ships an update weekly, Journalli fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
