# M vs Car Auto Play

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: M at none against Car Auto Play's 10. M also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). Car Auto Play's advantage is ratings volume (7.5K vs 11) and review sentiment (51% vs 42%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Car Auto Play sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. M asks for nothing beyond the download.

M holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Car Auto Play has 7.5K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of M's written reviews are positive against 51% of Car Auto Play's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

M ships an update every 2 weeks, Car Auto Play every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
