# M vs Car Link Connect

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: M at none against Car Link Connect's 14. M also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). Car Link Connect's advantage is ratings volume (7.3K vs 11) and review sentiment (53% vs 42%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Car Link Connect sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. M asks for nothing beyond the download.

M holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Car Link Connect has 7.3K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of M's written reviews are positive against 53% of Car Link Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
