# OCR Text vs Text

The clearest difference is ads: OCR Text at none against Text's shown. OCR Text also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.7.2). Text's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OCR Text ships an update monthly, Text fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
