# Web PKI vs Bird ID

The clearest difference is rating: Bird ID at 4.6 against Web PKI's 1.0. Bird ID also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (91 vs 4). Web PKI's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and iOS requirement (8.2 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bird ID sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Web PKI asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bird ID holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bird ID has 91 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Web PKI's written reviews are positive against 29% of Bird ID's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Web PKI ships an update every 2 months, Bird ID fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
