# e vs Primo Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Primo Notes at 4.2 against e's 3.7. Primo Notes also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 31 months) and ratings volume (13 vs 3). e's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Primo Notes sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. e asks for nothing beyond the download.

Primo Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of e's written reviews are positive against 70% of Primo Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

e ships an update every 31 months, Primo Notes every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
