# UniFi Protect vs AC Infinity

The clearest difference is rating: UniFi Protect at 4.8 against AC Infinity's 4.2. UniFi Protect also leads on ratings volume (77K vs 858). AC Infinity's advantage is review sentiment (79% vs 52%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

UniFi Protect holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UniFi Protect has 77K ratings behind it against 858, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of UniFi Protect's written reviews are positive against 79% of AC Infinity's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UniFi Protect ships an update every 3 weeks, AC Infinity monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
