# French 101 vs Emme Spanish

The clearest difference is rating: Emme Spanish at 5.0 against French 101's 4.6. Emme Spanish also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 19 months). French 101's advantage is ratings volume (54 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. French 101 sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Emme Spanish sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Emme Spanish holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: French 101 has 54 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

French 101 ships an update every 19 months, Emme Spanish every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
