# Chessify vs Chessdrive

The clearest difference is rating: Chessify at 4.4 against Chessdrive's 1.0. Chessify also leads on ratings volume (398 vs 1). Chessdrive's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chessify sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Chessdrive sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chessify holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chessify has 398 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Chessify ships an update monthly, Chessdrive every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
