# EffectMe vs Magic Theme

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Magic Theme at 88% against EffectMe's 7%. Magic Theme also leads on rating (4.6 vs 1.3) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 27). EffectMe's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EffectMe sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Magic Theme sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Magic Theme holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magic Theme has 1.2K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 7% of EffectMe's written reviews are positive against 88% of Magic Theme's.

EffectMe ships an update every 3 days, Magic Theme every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
