# Cinematical vs filmy

The clearest difference is ads: filmy at none against Cinematical's shown. Cinematical's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cinematical ships an update monthly, filmy every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
