# Hemi vs Frequency Generator

The clearest difference is monetization model: Frequency Generator at free with in-app purchases against Hemi's subscription. Frequency Generator also leads on review sentiment (47% vs 32%). Hemi's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 471). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hemi sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Frequency Generator sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Hemi against 4.4 for Frequency Generator. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hemi has 2.5K ratings behind it against 471, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 32% of Hemi's written reviews are positive against 47% of Frequency Generator's.

Hemi ships an update every 2 weeks, Frequency Generator every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
